JHANKAAR HUES 2024, THE THIRD CULTURAL FIESTA AT ISM

Jhankaar Hues, the pinnacle event celebrating talent and camaraderie among the houses at Indian School Muscat, proudly presented its third edition on June 1st and 2nd, 2024. This platform fosters students' skills, encourages healthy competition and fosters personal and artistic growth. Organized by ISM, this significant event saw 611 participants competing in 64 events across 9 venues, demonstrating their skills alongside peers.













The event's opening ceremony began with the Chief Guest, Mr. Syed Salman, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors, Indian Schools Oman and the Guest of Honour, Mr. Mohammed Imran Khan, Treasurer, Indian School Muscat Management Committee, along with other respected members of the School Management Committee, participating in the traditional 'Lighting of the Lamp.' It’s commendable that the school upholds environmental values, as demonstrated by the gesture of welcoming the Chief Guest and Guest of Honour with a potted plant and was vested with Senior Council Cocurricular Coordinators Veda Sharath and Alan Nibu. The presence of dignitaries, including Principal, Rakesh Joshi, Senior Vice-Principal Administration, Vice-Principals, Assistant Vice-Principals, Heads of Departments, teachers, enthusiastic participants, proud parents and well-wishers, lent an air of grandeur to the occasion.

The graceful invocation dance organized by the Performing Arts team, marked the commencement of the event. Subsequently, Nihal Bhatt, the Head Boy of the Senior Section warmly welcomed everyone to the highly anticipated historic occasion, followed by a captivating digital presentation featuring highlights of Jhankaar Hues journey, engaged the audience and even boosted the confidence of the participants. With majestic strides, the four House Captains ceremonially carried the Jhankaar Hues Flag into the hall, while Senior Council Co-curricular Coordinator, Alan Nibu, administered the oath on behalf of all participants.

The Chief Guest hoisted the Jhankaar Hues flag, officially declaring the fest open. Speaking highly of the events at ISM, he expressed joy in attending and looked forward to an outstanding occasion and accurately cited the idea that, “Coming together is the beginning. Keeping together is progress. Working together is success.” Additionally, he reminisced about his school days, recalling his enthusiastic participation in similar events. The Chief Guest’s words deeply resonated the importance of fostering a positive competitive spirit among the students, highlighting the importance of participation than winning.













As a token of gratitude, Diya Mehnaz of X H presented the Chief Guest with a painting of her own. The Inaugural Ceremony concluded with the vote of thanks proposed by Gayathri Amar Kumar, Head Girl of the Senior Section. ISM witnessed a blend of youthful creativity and talent throughout the two-day cultural extravaganza, aimed at highlighting exceptional abilities. These two days were brimming with unparalleled excitement among enthusiastic participants who were cheered by their peers.
This celebration of talents came to an impactful conclusion with a valedictory function held at 5:00 p.m. on June 3rd, 2024. The gracious presence of Chief Guest Dr. Sivakumar Manickam, Chairman, Board of Directors, Indian Schools Oman and Guest of Honour Mr. Syed Ziaur Rahman, In Charge President, Indian School Muscat Management Committee, alongside the Vice President, Treasurer, Co-convener, Principal Rakesh Joshi, Senior Vice-Principal Administration, Vice-Principals, Assistant Vice-Principals, Heads of Departments, teachers, proud participants, parents and well-wishers, added depth to the momentous culmination of Jhankaar Hues 2024.

The event commenced with a prayer song and the` Head Girl of the Senior Section adorned the privilege to extend a formal welcome to the esteemed gathering. A digital synopsis provided the audience with an immersive experience of the enthralling two-day journey. The winners of various events showcased their talents, mesmerizing the audience with their outstanding and incredible prowess. The pivotal moment of the event arrived with the eagerly awaited announcement of results and the subsequent prize distribution ceremony. Both the Chief Guest and the Guest of Honour bestowed accolades upon the winning Houses, presenting them with mementoes, certificates, and trophies. The Chief Guest, visibly thrilled, expressed his delight at witnessing ISM’s marvellous strength in setting up the benchmark and raising the standard of Jhankar Hues since its inception. He emphasised on each individual’s unique talent and remarked that everyone should take advantage of it for self-progress as well as equipping themselves to contribute for an ideal community. As a gesture of gratitude, Sejal Ketan of XII H presented the Chief Guest with an apt portrait featuring an amazing blend of different hues.
The announcement of the results filled the participants with excitement and the auditorium echoed with joy and celebration as the Blue House proudly lifted the prestigious 'Championship Trophy' at 'Jhankaar Hues 2024'. In the Sub-Junior Category, the Green House claimed the Runner-Up trophy, while the Blue House secured the Winning Trophy. In the Junior Category, the Red House secured the Runner-Up position, while the Blue House emerged as the Winner. In the Senior Category, the Blue House secured the Runner-Up position, while the Green House claimed the top spot as the winner.














The lowering of the Jhankaar Flag marked a poignant and uplifting moment, inspiring all to maintain the same zest and enthusiasm for the years to come. The curtains fell on Jhankaar for the year 2024 with an expression of gratitude by the Head Boy of the Senior Section followed by a heartfelt rendition of the School Anthem. Undoubtedly, the plethora of events served as a testament to the immense potential and talent that reside within the young generation and the extensive array of artistic, linguistic and cultural events eloquently showcased the dedication and commitment of the school community.
